A self-build top floor flat renovation in a brutalist apartment building on the Holloway Road. Studio MASH were appointed to advise on the refurbishment and to design and coordinate the fabrication of an extensive package of bespoke CNC cabinetry to be installed by the client.
With limited space available, the joinery needed to be ultra functional while simultaneously giving an identity to the spaces that it served.
In the kitchen, green Fenix soft-touch laminate cabinets complement a pale worktop and recessed tiled sink alcove. The dining corner is warmer and more natural, set against a wall of ash veneered plywood panelling and storage.
The ash veneered finish continues elsewhere, its elegant grain picked out by the plentiful daylight flooding the space through original curtain glazing to both the south and north. The kitchen island doubles as a partition between kitchen and living spaces, with integrated bookshelves and reading lamps.
